With the latest judgment from the honorable Bombay High Court, there will be a lot of change in IPL 2016 schedule and time table. Sources revealed that the Vivo IPL Final 2016 will now be played in Bangalore instead of Mumbai.
The court had ordered that all IPL matches which were originally scheduled to be played in parched Maharashtra in May will now be shifted elsewhere. It is important to mention here that the state of Maharashtra is facing the worst drought and water scarcity in its Vidharba and Marathwada regions. Both Pune and Nagpur come under these regions.
As per the IPL itinerary as many as 13 matches were to be played in Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune in May. But with latest High Court’s ruling, these matches will be soon shifted elsewhere. The complete details of reshuffled IPL programs and IPL fixtures will be made available to public shortly.
Kolkata’s famous Eden Gardens will also get the opportunity to host Eliminator and second Qualifier match later in May, which were originally scheduled to be played in Pune. The changes in IPL fixtures are currently being chalked out among the IPL officials and League’s governing council. IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla hinted that Vishakhapatnam will be the new alternate home ground for MS Dhoni’s Rising Pune Supergiants or RPS. Similarly, Mumbai Indians (MI) will choose their home ground shortly. Options before them are Raipur, Kanpur and Jaipur.

It is important to say that this year IPL 9 has begun with lots of controversies. According to experts, a lot of water is required for maintaining pitches before matches. But in Maharashtra the water crisis is really becoming scarier day by day. So the Bombay high court had to intervene and order that no more IPL matches in Maharashtra after April 30.
